Uncharted Territory - for me anyway

If you would have asked me this question 10 years ago, the answer would have been totally different: Would you like to be in charge of the children & youth ministries at the church?

Last week our little piece of heaven on earth, New Harmony UMC, asked me just that. I didn't hesitate to answer and knew that this is where God wants me to be right now. Sure, there is still a bit of me that wants to be back in Chicago, playing in a band that knew how to worship with music, but the greater part of me knows this is my place in the Kingdom right now. Besides, I still get to play my guitar (and attempt to sing). It will be a learning process for all, to be sure, but something tells me its the right thing and the right time and the right place.

There's a lot to go into this, planning, sorting, organizing, reading, scripting and so forth. I think all of my past experiences in ministry will be very helpful in making this succeed. But not by any power of my own.

Expect change. Look for difference. Meet the next generation of believers.

It is uncharted territory for me, no maps, no grid coordinates and no GPS to guide me. I do, however, have my GOD to light my path and keep me in the right direction.
