Uncharted Territory - for me anyway
If you would have asked me this question 10 years ago, the answer would have been totally different: Would you like to be in charge of the children & youth ministries at the church?
Last week our little piece of heaven on earth, New Harmony UMC, asked me just that. I didn't hesitate to answer and knew that this is where God wants me to be right now. Sure, there is still a bit of me that wants to be back in Chicago, playing in a band that knew how to worship with music, but the greater part of me knows this is my place in the Kingdom right now. Besides, I still get to play my guitar (and attempt to sing). It will be a learning process for all, to be sure, but something tells me its the right thing and the right time and the right place.
There's a lot to go into this, planning, sorting, organizing, reading, scripting and so forth. I think all of my past experiences in ministry will be very helpful in making this succeed. But not by any power of my own.
Expect change. Look for difference. Meet the next generation of believers.
It is uncharted territory for me, no maps, no grid coordinates and no GPS to guide me. I do, however, have my GOD to light my path and keep me in the right direction.

Aaron,
Wow! Words can't say what I feel in my heart as your mom and sister in Christ. I'm proud of you and I just knew that God had a plan for you from the time you were conceived. When I read your blog the first scripture that came to mind was from Esther. When Mordecai told her that she may have been born for such a time as this.
You have my support and I will do all I can to encourage and pray for your ministry.
God bless you!

DUDE! SPEACHLESS! Just want to wish you luck starting in September when you start the full time children's church, and I'll keep you in my thought's and my prayer's as well as you set out on this new venture. I know what you mean about the whole band in Chicago, 'cause I feel the Lord has called me to ministry through music, in fact I know it because he has given me the talent and has put song lyrics in my head, I know this because some of the stuff I have written down (I know that's bad grammer!!!!), I could never think of on my own!
Jah warriors UNITE!,
