Accidents can, and will happen

So, you thought I'd given up on this thing? So did I! I have been wanting to post, but usually get pulled away for one reason or another. No more excuses . . .

For those of you keeping up with my wife's blog, you already know that we bought a newer van. The old Mercury was just starting to give us minor issues. Shoot, we had nearly 150K miles on the thing. It was a great vehicle and lasted us while we were in Illinois, and managed several trips between here and there, and lasted another two years once we moved here. Not bad, she did what we asked!

Likewise, you may also know that three weeks after purchasing said newer van, Tina was in an accident. Thankfully no one else was involved and neither Tina or the two kids with her were injured in any way, shape, or form! The van, however, managed to have so good gashes in the front and rear passenger quarter panels and bumpers. We bought this van (Dodge Grand Caravan) because of the larger trunk space; compared with the Villager. Due to wreckage we cannot open the back lift gate - all cargo must now go underfoot (thanks for understanding kids).

Far better than that? Yes, thanks for asking. We started working with the youth at church last weekend. We look forward to growth, as now we only have a couple kids showing up. All this will change and we will wonder what it was like when we only had a few kids! I look forward to those times.

Why do they continue to ask me to sing? That's an even better question than the last one! I don't know, I'm not a singer. Last Sunday I led a few songs with vocals and guitar. It's bad enough that I don't sing, but to have me playing a guitar at the same time? I'm glad I didn't have to listen to it! I'm trying, honestly, to let myself be used by God for what He has in store for me - but it is really, truly, horrendously difficult, growing pains I suppose. Even afterwards, putting my things away and wondering how I messed it up, people came up and asked if I'd be doing the same thing again soon. Not my call, but when the time comes, I'll do what needs to be done, out of obedience and reverance to God. Keep that in prayer for me, I need all the help I can get here (not being a singer and all!).

Not much else to report. I will try harder to make a more pointed effort to post more regularly again, this once a month thing is pretty ridiculous. Send e-mails to remind if you have to! Until then, read on and God Bless.
