What's in Store Next?
I don't know what's in store for me in the coming weeks, months, years or decades; I don't know what twists will come my way. I am eager and sometimes a bit anxious about my future. I will work until I am able to retire (no time soon for sure). I will raise my children, until they've left the house to live on their own. I will love my wife, until the very end. And, I will seve my God as best I can, until He decides to bring me home.
But what plans does He have for me now? Things are growing and changing in the ministry department. Excited about potential growth (at church and personally), and at the same time slow-to-act - anxious and nervous feelings creep in as well. We are entering into a new Sunday school program for the kids at church, and trying to develop a youth program, not to mention working towards multi-media incorporation into our services. There have been a few people (a number growing each week) that have asked if I would be leading music times in the future as well; wanting to add some praise and worship style music to the services too. I guess my VBS singing didn't scare them off! Oh, I think he has some plans for me.
As if that isn't enough . . . a while back the Lord laid on my heart to start taking some of my knowledge (given by Him of course) and putting it into a short devotional study on praise and worship. Gradually, He has given me, and laid on me, and spoken to me about what it is this study should include; all I have had to do is pen that into tangible, readable works to be shared with others. It will eventually be a series, but all I have been given to this point is a short study on modern praise and worship music and how we can incorporate that into our lives and our worship to and for Him.
Oh, soccer season is starting, we have three playing on three different teams, each team having two games each weekend over the course of eight weeks. Tina is the coach for Madison's team . . . much prayer needed for us and the kids (safety, travel, sanity!).
That's what is in store for us . . .
